Bisnow feature article on hard hat tour led by Roadside partner Richard Lake is complete with photos. Giant is on pace to open in mid-November just in time for your turkey feast. Let Giant's sommelier pick the right beer, wine, and champagne to accompany your Thanksgiving dinner.
Follow the progress as all of the pieces in the CityMarket at O puzzle come together. The heart of the project is the central plant (cooling tower) located on the roof of the East Building. "Amazing" is the word most used to describe it...

Dedicating the Hodge on7th
We dedicate the active senior building on 7th and P Streets, NW to Michael Hodge. Michael was a good friend of the Roadside Team and supporter of CityMarket at O. He passed too early.
Michael was a dedicated DC government employee who was extraordinarily passionate about the redevelopment of DC's neighborhoods and expansion of the cultural arts throughout the city. His fingerprints are on projects throughout the District of Columbia.
The Hodge will begin processing applications for tenants in mid-January and with a mid-April occupancy for the 90 one-bedroom units. Applicants must be 55+. For more information, call Susan Linsky, 202-375-7955 or email slinsky@roadsidellc.com.
- Honoring HodgeMore than 100 people gathered on Aug. 21 to dedicate City Market at O’s Active Adult building, called Hodge on 7th, in honor of Michael Hodge, a D.C. development exec who almost single-handedly brought back municipal financing to the District. From left, Buwa Binitie of Dantes Partners, D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray and Richard Lake of Roadside Development.

Senior Housing @ O Reaches for the Top
Been by CityMarket at O lately?
The building going up on the southwest corner of 7th and P above the Giant is affordable housing for seniors 55+. Dantes Partners and Roadside Development partnered to develop the 90 one bedroom units and construction began this past March.
We think the "cube" as we refer to the building that fronts on 7th is one of the most handsome buildings in the project with fabulous views to the north, e and south. The exterior was designed by Robert Sponseller of Shalom Baranes Associate, who is also the master planner and architect for CityMarket at O.
In other news from CityMarket at O (which is changing every day) see photos taken last week as well. The Giant has begun its tenant build-out of the historic market building and plans to open in November 2013 (that is a bit more than 5 months away). The Bozzuto leasing center is under construction at 9th and P. Soon you will see more of the soulful dog and the yoga woman around the neighborhood.
